Counseling sessions are typically about an hour long, the initial session is typically 75-90 minutes as there is some extra information we'll be doing.
The frequency of counseling sessions will depend on your individual needs and goals. In the initial phase of therapy, we typically start at once per week to gain momentum on the problems. Once we've met our goals for counseling, we can move to phase 2, the sustainability portion. At that time we taper our meetings and work towards completing the process.
You are always welcome back. Some people find themselves sliding back to the habits that led them to counseling in the first place. However, some people find life changes and with the new challenges they need help. Either way, we're willing to help.
Deciding who to work with can be a difficult decision for some people. There are a few things that can help make the decision, including the connection you have with the person, therapist expertise, scheduling, and time/cost constraints.
There are a couple ways to pay for therapy from using insurance to paying out of pocket. Each option has benefits and drawbacks.
Doing anything the first time can be difficult. Even if you've been in therapy in the past, it helps lower some of the jitters to know what the meeting will be like.
